Volunteer Registration Issues

For returning volunteers registering in Blue Sombrero are not matching to their eAYSO record and therefore, not linking to their certifications and instructor roles. We are exploring options with BSB but please keep the following in mind:

· Volunteer records require an exact match on the following fields:
- First and Last Name
- Date of Birth
- Last 4 of the SSN

In order for volunteers to stay linked with their volunteer certifications and position histories, we need to have volunteers make sure they apply in Blue Sombrero with an exact match of the fields above.
· How can a volunteer be sure their application is linked to their eAYSO records?
Before eSigning their volunteer application, returning volunteers should check that their AYSO ID appears in the upper right corner of the form before eSigning it.
If the number begins with 20…, it is a new volunteer ID number and not linked.
Volunteers can go back to their application and fix any of the fields.
The most common reason records aren’t linking is the use of a Nickname in Blue Sombrero instead of their correct legal first name as needed for background screening.
